Ron Carúpano – A Venezuelan Rum Legacy Since 1762
Ron Carúpano is one of Venezuela’s oldest and most respected rum houses, with origins dating back to 1762 at the historic Hacienda Altamira in Macarapana, near the Caribbean coast of Venezuela. Produced in the lush valley of Carúpano, the brand benefits from a unique tropical microclimate, natural spring water and centuries of rum-making expertise.
The modern company, Destilería Carúpano, was re-established in 1954 by the Morrison family, who revived the historic hacienda and continued the tradition of crafting premium Venezuelan rum. Today, four generations of the family have overseen the development of the brand, helping establish Ron Carúpano as one of the most awarded premium rum producers in Venezuela.
A defining figure behind the range is Carmen López de Bastidas, Venezuela’s first female Master Blender, whose expertise and dedication have helped shape the elegant and refined style of Ron Carúpano for more than three decades.
Ron Carúpano rums are aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels under tropical conditions that accelerate maturation and create exceptional richness, balance and complexity. The distillery is renowned for producing smooth, naturally aged rums with no artificial additives.
Today, Ron Carúpano is exported internationally and recognised for combining heritage, craftsmanship and innovation in a contemporary premium rum portfolio.
